I love to watch films and tv shows with our kids. When we moved to the UK I began watching LOST with Aaron and Marlo as part of my attempt to keep our kids culturally aware of modern-day America. I also showed them all episodes of the Brady Bunch and Little House on the Prairie. We also began working our way through Monk and then Psych.
Back in the states now we are subscribed to Netflix and have Netflix streaming also.
Most mornings I watch an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show with Matthew and Elijah before school. We might watch an episode in the evening. I also try to find time to read with Matthew, Elijah, and Gillian a few nights a week. It's hard to fit everything in.
Miss Marlo has a penchant for scary movies. We don't like her to watch anything that could be described as evil. I wanted to find a way to give her the film scares she is looking for though. David and I began compiling a mental list of films we thought she should see.
Of course I mostly want our kids to see other types of films. Me...I'm a sucker for comedies. Love 'em.
So I decided to create a place where we could all discuss movies together. I've created this as a closed group. For now I would like to keep it to family members. I want us all to feel safe sharing our thoughts. Everyone should feel free to say what they wish. Everyone should be allowed to share their thoughts. No ridiculing allowed. Kind teasing will be allowed. No bullying.
Post a film you have watched and would like to discuss.
Post a film you want others to watch "with you". That may happen in person or we can set a time to watch the film in our respective locations. Or we could set a date/time at which we will begin a discussion of a particular film so that others may choose to watch it also.
